1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of this website and your purchase of products from BFC Tax Academy, operated by BFC Tax Accountants Inc., 49 High St., 3rd Floor, Barrie, Ontario ("we", "us"). By placing an order, you agree to these terms.
2. Products and delivery
Our products are digital files, primarily PDF workbooks. After payment, your file is available for immediate download, and a download link is sent to the email address used at checkout. Please keep a copy of your file; download links may expire.
3. Prices, payment and taxes
Prices are in Canadian dollars. Applicable GST/HST is calculated at checkout based on your location. Payment is processed securely through Shopify; we do not store your card details.
4. Your licence
When you buy a product, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own professional development and for internal training within your own firm, including sharing it with your firm's staff.
You may not resell, sublicense or distribute the product, in whole or in part; upload or share it publicly, including on file-sharing sites, social media or course platforms; remove copyright notices; or use the content to create a competing commercial product. All content remains the intellectual property of BFC Tax Accountants Inc.
5. Educational use only — not professional advice
Our products are educational material for accounting and tax professionals and students. They are not tax, legal, accounting or financial advice, and buying or using them does not create a professional or client relationship with BFC Tax Accountants Inc.
Case studies are fictional and simplified. Tax law, rates and administrative positions change frequently. Each product states the date its content is current to. You are responsible for confirming rates, rules and their application against primary sources before relying on them or advising anyone.
6. Accuracy
We take care to ensure our content is accurate as of its stated currency date, but we do not guarantee that it is complete, error-free or suitable for any particular situation. If you find an error, please tell us at info@bfc.tax.
7. Refunds
Refunds and replacements are handled under our Refund Policy.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BFC Tax Accountants Inc. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from reliance on our products in advising clients or making decisions. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product is limited to the amount you paid for that product.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place your order applies to that order.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
